We've heard some new stones songs.

You need registration, but it's free to listen to the new McCartney single.
Sounds good if you ask me.

This is easily the best new McCartney single in YEARS, probably even back to the 70's.

Great sound, and the lyrics are good,

Something I have noticed about the stones and macca recently: They put out new music, and it SOUNDS good, it sounds like them, but then you actually listen to the words to see what the song is about, and the lyrics are just meaningless / boring etc. I love RJ, SOL good, but some of the lyrics are just uninspired, average...

I feel spoilt, my two favourite acts are back on track, and their albums are released a week apart in September!!

Hey Jimmy? Best single in years (since '70)??? I thought Flaming Pie (the album-chock full of good tunes) was excellent as did most everyone who had a professional position to critique.

This single (fine line) wasn't bad though. I certainly liked it and am excited about getting a new Paul album around the same time as the Boys.

I know its been a while (less than a week), but I still think ROUGH JUSTICE really hits the mark as far as rocking our asses!! Can't wait for the new stones! I'm having a real hard time waiting for 1st week of September!

PS- I still think T&A needs his Viagra so he can come off the mountain top (elder statesman wisdom) and give Mick and the Boys some just due props for what I think (what we've initially heard) is going to be one hell of an album.

My apologies to all the Mac fans- I know this is a Paul McCartney thread...

unfortunately SOL still bites the big one, crossfire, as of this writing. But, I am cautiously hopeful that somewhere in those 13 unheard tunes there lurk some gems. September 6 will be a national holiday here in this household and I'm sure in a neighborhood near you...

I think McCartneys album will be better than Driving Rain. Some good songs on there, but theres something wrong with it. I never was able to tell what exactly, maybe the production.

Agree, Flaming Pie was excellent. To me, his best solo album.

not the best singer? Just let me laugh!
Listen to any of the Beatles records or the great live album Wings Over America.

There you have a great singer!

Then laugh at yourself....

He voice is not at all comparable to fx. Elvis - like I said just an average singer.....

If you say he is top of the world..... says something about .....

I love McCartney BUT I thought the song was terribly lame!!! Really weak, awful lyrics and not memorable. I was disappointed.Just my opinion.

Hey Crossfire,

I said best single, not best song since the 70's, however I forgot about "My brave face" from Flowers in the dirt (1989).
Flaming Pie is indeed a great album, but is let down by a couple of fillers - If you wanna, and really love you. Used to be bad is also a little average. All the others are great though!

I am seeing my two favourite acts in the U.S later this year - Macca in September in miami and the Stones in Nov. in San Francisco. The best autumn (fall) EVER!!

Its poppy and thats okay. Paul is the true king of pop, and im saying that as a real compliment.

I purchased the Red Square dvd this week and I'm rather disappointed. the bonus concert, although highly edited, is ok but the main one really sucks because all the songs are intercut with long boring documentary crap. I wanted to see one long uncut concert. that's certainly what I thought I was buying - there's no way you could tell from the front cover, or even the back for that matter! false advertising if you ask me. they should've put all the documentary stuff as a separate feature. $20 down the drain

The Petersburgh show is fantastic isnĀ“t it? Ok, they left out the songs that are in the Red Square documentary and were already featured on Back in the US, but there are a few rockers left...

I've Got a Feeling is great. The songs of the Beatles were amazing.....no filler...everything was just a classic. (Okay, Mr. Moonlight is filler.)

Beatles is completely filler....

Macca new song would be a c-side for the Stones...

This statement says nothing about the Beatles and everything about your taste.....or lack of it.

My taste is fine - specially when I don't like Macca.... I don't like silly pop songs - that's what he mostly is about....

Macca's taste is also terrible - married a gold-digger..... how stupid can he be.... good old Macca is becoming senil....
