I was finally able to download it - sounds like a good single. What is all the negativity? Listen, if these guys at this point in their career (60+) can have a hit single - more power to them. It will be good to hear them back on the radio for the first time in almost 20 years.
Think Rough Justice is a good sign of what is to come from the rest of the record.
Agreed...Although Streets of Love is pretty similar to other ballads from the last few LPs, I find myself humming the melody all the time. Rough Justice is the best thing since StarF*^#er! THEY"RE BACK>...
Actually Steel Wheels had a lot of airplay & Mixed Emotions went top 5 in the US fall '89. Rock And a Hard Place reached # 23, 14 weeks on the Hot 100, making SW the last Stones album to have major Top 40 Hits.
I finally heard SOL this morning and I agree, what's with all the negativity? It is similar to other slower songs over the last few albums but there is certainly nothing wrong with it. Love that Rough Justice, really grows on you. Kind of reminds me of You Got Me Rockin, and I never liked that song. I know that's strange but it is true. I see this album being a gift for the true fans and not them trying to be trendy. (Anybody Seen My Baby comes to mind) I wasn't particularly keen on Don't Stop either so I'm excited.
It's not that bad! Great vocal work by ole Mick and some nice guitars. Every time I listen to it - and I do it often - it's getting better..... No new Wild Horses but a nice track, stay cool people!
Can anybody tell me WHERE download Rough Justice?? Ive listen it in StonesVikings, but Im trying downloading it from mule, and all the times give me problems with the format (even when this is a mp3).....
I can live with it if it is the only thing like that on the album! It could have been saved by a kick-ass solo. Instead we get perhaps the LAMEST Stones guitar solo EVER. Who played this? Any studio hack could have cranked this out.
Out of Tears was pulled out of sappiness by it's solo!
Who is responsible, Don Was? Did Keith hear this before it was released?
Aside from that, it is kind of catchy, but sounds more like an Alfie outtake than The Stones!
would someone please email me an MP3 of this song, even a sample would be much appreciated. I have heard nothing from the new album. Also I need The Stones to come to New Orleans. Any news on more shows being added. Thanks Adam adamsday@bellsouth.com
Streets Of Love is SO SO SO SO SO beautifull!!!!, it is greaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat!!!!!!!, my girlfriend love it! (and she hates the stones and rock n roll), i love streets of love!!!!!!!!
I think that this song has the inner power of being a hit single . More than Rough Justice. Who is playing the electric guitar part on the background typical of Stones slow tempo song. I hesitate beween Keith and Mick.
I bet if it was released 15 or so years ago it would've been a big double sided hit. Nowadays? No doubt the hit radio and clubs demograph have changed quite a bit, it'll be interesting to see how it does...............
This song has really grown on me...like I suspected would happen. Those of us who dig these tracks, from the summer of 2005, no less...we're so fortunate.
I've burnt a quickie disc from the downloads to listen to while I bop around in my car. Had a few leftover Rockpassion things in the computer file so I tacked them on too. Really works for me in a flukey sort of way. Try it if you like:
-Rough Justice -Streets of Love -Through the Lonely Night (B-Side) -Harder they Come (KR 45) -Dance (Wood + Jagger 05)
