I need to clear myself: Between Buttons is a good and interesting album, with that British flavor all over it, and it includes some very good quality songs ("Yesterday's Papers", "Connection", "Back Street Girl", "She Smiled Sweetly", "Miss Amanda Jones", "Please Go Home"..), but I think in compared to the things they did earlier as a whole it hadn't survive the test of time quite as well as, for example, Aftermath. The whole impression is somehow a bit forced and tired, plus the weird production with all those reverb things and the over all "thin" sound. Just compare, let's say, a Jimi Hendrix album from the same period.
