Let it Loose in '05?

Watched the Bobby Darin bio (Beyond the Sea) on DVD last nite. Good flick - Spacey does an amazing job (his own vocals throughout) with Darin (I'm a big fan of his).

The only non-Darin tune on the entire soundtrack was an oddly place Let it Loose (EOMS version, of course) toward the end of the movie. Kind of stunning to hear it in the movie (it didn't work time-wise, as the scene was set in 1968).

I wonder if the relative success of this movie will increase the chances of the Stones dusting this overlooked classic off this year. It's happened before with one-off appearances of Jump on Top of Me and She Smiled Sweetly....in both instances Jagger cited the movie's they appeared in as inspiring their inclusions.

Keith mentioned the use of "Thru & Thru" in The Sopranos during the Licks...

Love to hear that in a club. Maybe Mick's best ever vocal

I thought of the same thing when I was watching the movie. It sounded excellent, but the time period was well off. Spacey must not have thought Stones fans would be watching a film about Bobby Darin. Can't say I liked the film nearly as much as you though.

The relative success of the movie? In the States, I think it was in theaters for about a week. Are you in Europe? Is it more popular over there?

I just didn't like the fact that it was like a musical, which made me think Spacey was really just showboating that he can sing kind of like Darin.

Well - it was about a singer/musician - what else would have preferred it to be "like"?
