Question about backing vocals?
Date: September 6, 2014 12:31

How often did Brian Jones, Bill Wyman and Ron Wood do backing vocals in the studio or live? Can anyone name the songs with them on backing vocals? Did Mick Taylor ever do any backing vocals?

As a coarse overview, you could use the RS-Discography on Wikipedia.

Go to the section 'Personnel' at each album - look who and how often has done the backing vocals .....

Mick Taylor sang back-up on @#$%& on GHS and a few songs on IORR. (He can be seen singing in the Til The Next Goodbye video). That's it.

Bill and Brian (but not Keith) did backup vocals in their live act in the very early years, though Keith took over pretty quickly.

I have always been convinced that someone in addition to Keith sings on Yesterday's Papers.

just because someone is singing in a music video isn't proof they did vocals on the actual recording

I really miss Keith's backup vocals. I know he still does a few but its not much. I always thought that was a key component to the "raw" live sound. Things got real polished & to my ears not as good when he was dialed back. That would be Steel Wheels on. Much more polished & much less joyous.

Certainly true, though Taylor did sing on those IORR songs.

Thanks Irix :E

For a while there Bill and Keith shared on-stage backing vocal duties:

- 1966 (don't know where it was or who took it, sorry!)

And sometimes Bill even adjusted the mic for Keith :E

- Sydney, February 19th 1966 (don't know who took it, sorry!)
