Everyone does a great cover of this. (…)

even Dylan himself. Here's a rearrangement from 2019 (the last year he played Girl From The North Country live): [www.youtube.com]

Wow, that's an excellent rendition. Thanks for sharing!

There are maybe not countless, but enough Dylan biographies. And there is 'Chronicles vol. 1"

It'd be nice if he brought back Soon After Midnight, Spirit On The Water and Pay In Blood. Arguably the three best tunes outta the last 25 years of any artist IMHO

Cat Power totally killed it with "One Too Many Mornings" last Friday in Tokyo. She had that classic Dylan vibe going on.
I didn't get to hear "You Got the Silver," though.

I'm currently moving through the 27 CD set of the '74 North America Tour with the Band. Yes, most of the songs sound the same, but every once while you pick out a gem. A different arrangement that works. The problem with a lot of it is that he's almost angry, spitting out a lot of lyrics. It doesn't work on Lay Lady Lay, where he sounds like he's pissed, and not in love with her.

Pretty much continuing on song wise from last year………..New Drummer Anton Fig who has played with just about every heavy hitter in the music industry including Stones,Jagger and Dylan back in the 1980’s…Famous also for being in the house band on the David letterman show for many years.Peace.M

Is the band/drummer not usually known in advance of the tour? Was Jim Keltner playing with him the same just as a surprise?

Dylan's band has no name and if band members are changed there's no advance notice. It's been that way ever since the Never Ending Tour kicked off in 1988.

I know that there isn't a ton, but I guess for a while it wasn't huge names that many would know. They maybe do now from being in Dylan's band, but totally surprising to me that guys like Keltner and Anton are there with no notice. I'd literally be more inclined to go to a show if I knew they had some other big names, no knock to the core band that's been there for awhile. I know Dylan's not necessarily about promotion, but one of the times I saw Dylan was specifically because Knopfler was opening, and then he ended playing with Dylan for several songs. I'd call that stuff out.

Band members are just band members.Knopfler on the other hand was an opening act. (Pure horror trip for me – since most of his show sounded like River Dance). Knopfler joined Dylan on a few songs (but he did so because many Knopfler fans left when Dylan took the stage – especially in Germany while at Hammersmith nobody came to see Knopfler).

Finally saw "A Complete Unknown" last night. It was magnificent but not quite as entertaining as reading all the "worst show I ever saw" comments for his tour opener the other night.

Yes, “A complete unknown” is great. What were the complaints about the opening show? I assume they were from people who saw the movie, and enjoyed it, however had not seen Bob live.

The same complaints going back 60 years, the people who bought tickets don't get what Bob is doing right now.

I'm going to wait and see what the setlists look like when he joins Willie's Outlaw tour, might grab some tickets to that when it passes through my town.
