The Rolling Stones interactive map

Somebody on facebook clued me into this map, put together by vizzuality.

Here's some of what the company has to say about it:

THE PROJECT

To celebrate the launch of version 2.0 of our geospatial tool CartoDB, we wanted to develop a small and quick visualization to demonstrate the tool's technical capabilities, and show some of the interesting things that can be told through maps.

So we started thinking and then the idea came: what could be better than mapping 50 years of Rolling Stones tours?

THE RESULTS

An interactive visualization that displays all Rolling Stones tours, allowing fans to navigate their almost 1 million kilometers spent on the road.

Check it out:

I went through the map, great stuff. Is it thorough though? I think it missed the first US tour in 1964...got this from Wikipedia, and didn't see it in 1964. I'm only getting 3 tours of UK in 1964:

Tour dates[edit]
06/05/1964 San Bernardino, California, Swing Auditorium, Orange Show Fairgrounds
06/06/1964 San Antonio, Texas, "Teen Fair of Texas", Joe Freeman Coliseum, (2 shows)
06/07/1964 San Antonio, Texas, "Teen Fair of Texas", Joe Freeman Coliseum, (2 shows)
12/06/1964 Excelsior, Minnesota, Big Reggie’s Ballroom, Excelsior Amusement Park
13/06/1964 Omaha, Nebraska, Music Hall Auditorium
14/06/1964 Detroit, Olympia Stadium
17/06/1964 Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, West View Park
18/06/1964 Syracuse, New York, War Memorial Arena
19/06/1964 Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, Farm Show Arena
20/06/1964 New York City, Carnegie Hall (2 shows)

April 24, 1964,Ottawa, Auditorium

Urban Jungle is in the map summarized with Steel Wheels - you can see the european locations. 50 & Counting is missing .....

That's because this map was made before the 50 & Counting tour.

Nice job, but 1976 needs a correction. Münster is about 60 km north of Dortmund. In the map it's placed right next to Berlin.

..What's 'interactive' about it?

Some dates to add: 1982 3 shows in Frankfurt, 3 in Rotterdam, 2 in Collogne etc.
