I think: yes. As far as the 4 band members are concerned. Charlie said "YES" when that press guy asked. I think Charlie tells us the truth. If it´s not the band´s last tour, it´s the last tour with Charlie. Or the other way round: If Charlie quits it´s over for me, even if the others go on.

The last show won't be on this tour.....they gotta do a 50 year anniversary tour yet.....they will roll on until they die.......The final show willmore than likely be in hell and will last forever. There won't be any argument about which songs they do, they will be able to play them all.....and the best bit is that most of us fans will probably be in hell to see them.

You're forgetting that Mick and Keith are calling the shots when it comes to the band. I mean what else would Woody and Charlie do than hit the road if the Glimmers ask them nicely. Charlie would be glad to get away from his old bag Shirley and his stupid stamp collection for awhile and Ronnie would be happy to join because he knows damn well that Mick's gonna keep close tabs on him so he can't start killing his body with alcohol again. They'll tour till they @#$%& drop, maybe on a smaller scale though.

The final tour, coming to a county fair near you, will be billed as "The Rolling Stones, Featuring Long-time Guitarist Ron Wood" and will take place sometime around the year 2033.

Assuming you're still alive, would you show up at a thing like that? Of course you would. Better than nothing, you'd say. But you'd probably hate yourself in the morning.

"The Rolling Stones, Featuring Long-time Sideman Chuck Leavell"

How about that?

Yeah. If Whitey Chaplin was there it would be a must-see. Actually. He would have to be the LEAD singer by then!

This piss-takin 'funny' joking about Stones being old & bad is somewhat tiresome.
I´m sure Richards will rock & Jagger will sing the blues in a most satisfying way even if they´re 80-85 y o.

My point is that there must be a point at which they are no longer The Rolling Stones. What if Charlie is not on the 2008 tour? Is it still the Stones? I think yes, in the same way that Lennon, McCartney and any two other guys would still have been the Beatles. But what if Mick was the only remaining original member? Still the Stones? Even if he had legal rights to use the name, should he still use it at that point? What if Keith was the last original member? I'm sure it's been discussed here a million times, but I'm new. Cut me some slack.

It's rather sad to read this thread.
The last tour will be when one of the four still existing Stones members says
"I've had it" or any of them will pass away.
There's one last point for the Stones to make and that one comes from the old blues musicians, who has been around forever. They will make the statement that even white blues musicians can be around till they're 75 - 80.
Even it they won't do world tours of this big format, they will absolutely go on doing tours with the biggest cities in the world.

Ronnie, Charlie, Mick and Keith will keep on until they no longer are able to play anymore.

Hey Baboon Bro I'm your side!

Charlie is notorious for treating a new tour as being the last one.
As a member of the Rolling Stones Charlie has to appear on a 12-14 month tour when he would prefer to
be playing in Jazz clubs along with his other interests.
Fortunately Charlie is the ultimate professional and once back with the band he becomes that excellent drummer that plays with the Stones.
This will be the last great big world tour and will be an opportunity for Stones fans old & new to see & hear the a band that has been at the top of the pedestal for 43 years.
Make sure you buy ticketsto see the Rolling Stones Onstage as all good things come to an end and the end is coming closer as each year passes for all of us & them.

I wouldn't take Charlie's straight answer ("YES!") at the pc seriously. It was more a kind of a funny remark to the same old silly question. By the way, Charlie has been making this statement many times before...I'm with RankOutsider, they'll rock till they drop!

Hey - When has Charlie ever said that a specific tour would be the Stones last?
I've never heard him say that?? MLC

Lets quit starting rummors they already said they will never say a tour is there last one yes its possible this could be the last one the same could be said for the last several tours. We all know that someday they will be gone but until then lets enjoy them and not talk about when the last tour or concert will happen because we all know it will come someday but who cares when for now we still have the greatest rock band in the world around and a chance to see them live so enjoy the shows.

Charlie has never said that publicly until now, but supposedly, at the end of EVERY tour he tells the others "That's it, no more, I'm done with you guys." Then, after a year or two of just sitting around, he gets bored, as anyone would, and agrees to do "just one more."

Interesting moment at a show I saw in '97:

At the end of the show, everyone takes a final bow. Then, the sidemen walk off and the four official members of the Stones take a bow to thunderous applause. Then, Keith and Ron walk off, and Mick and Charlie take a bow to REALLY thunderous applause. What was up with that? At the time, I thought maybe Mick was trying to tell us that this was the last time you're going to see Charlie so let's let him really hear it. Show him how much you love him. But, of course, it wasn't Chalie's last tour. So what was the reason for it? Could it have been that Mick was testing the waters, seeing how people might react to some future incarnation of the Stones in which Mick and Charlie were the only remaining official members? Just a thought.
