Any out there notice when Keith walked backed to the stage from the B stage and Linda F started her vocalization on the GS intro how dominant her intro performance was it kind of buried Keith's guitar once he started his desending and asending pattern. The whole song the guitars really took back seat to Linda.
Keith's opening splash of notes on the studio version IMO was never matched live just the intro we all know what taylor did with the solo.
True, Keith guitar was a little weak on Gimme Shleter on the last tour. Listen to Keith's intro of GS on the Paradiso gig in '95 (Saint of me single and Stripped Companion) very powerfull. This is the best version of GS i have ever heard. The dualing are the best i have heard, at least since '78. What makes this version better than any other is Keith's solo. The solo isn't the hardest one to play but the timing is unbeatable. He plays his solo just off the beat. When he ends his solo Ronnie just continues fluently. Awesome guitars!!!!!
