Apparently they have recorded three typical blues songs in the sessions for the new album, no gaurentee if they will all be included though. Keith has also be playing Apartment number 9 a lot during sessions, maybe a tip for the ballad of his solo set?
I got a bit torrent of the new album sessions, about 20 songs, 3 or 4 of which are very good, as I said a few blues, Keith doing a couple of ballads (Apt no 9 being one of them) a couple of typical album filler type tracks, Juding by the tracks it seems it will sound like a cross between Dirty Work and Voodoo Lounge.
The story about the rehearsals cd is of course total bullshit. If there would be a single track it would be spread - just like the press conferenc recordings during the last days.
But:
1.There have been no rehearsals. Mick and Keith recorded demos while they wrote their stuff, but when Charlie joined them they started directly recording the basic tracks - which are now being overdubbed by Ronnie and the backing group.
2.These days noone involved in a production like this is allowed to burn anything on CD. They make very strict contracts about this. Everything is recorded on several harddiscs, which are all password protected. There is not one burned CD lying around because of the fear it could be stolen - so there won´t be any outtakes and rehearsals for the bootleggers like all that Voodoo stuff.
>so there won´t be any outtakes and rehearsals for the bootleggers like all that Voodoo stuff.
Unless the son of a not-to-be-named lead guitarist formerly known of the Faces steals the tapes and sells it to a bootlegger, as happened with the Voodoo Brew and Stew releases.

There was no one who answered correctly, the quiz might have been too difficult. But we are intent to give away the signed photo, we are discussing another form of doing so. But the quiz/answers were:
1. During the 1973 australian tour, the Stones all used pseudonyms when checking in to hotels etc. What name did Mick Taylor use?
A: Peter May, they all had pseudonyms
2. On what outtake of a wellknown Taylor-era song did Jagger sing about a little Lucy in the refrain after the guitarsolo? It´s not Downtown Suzie! And not on the released version...Hint: check your SM version of....
A: Dead Flowers, Mick changes to "Take me down, little Lucy" on the outtake, wich among other discs can be found on Sister Morphines "Live In Leeds" as a bonustrack.
3. wich NSV members did NOT attend the Taylor gig in Stockholm december 2004?
A: easy, just compare the member list on the first page, with the members listed on the page for this gig.

Mathijs
Yes, this was the way it went. But there are no "tapes" nowadays for safety reasons as I said, just harddiscs.
These harddiscs are password-protected and cannot be copied. Everybody involved in the production has signed a contract which contains as a string a penalty of $$$$$$ for trying to copy and take away material from the sessions. This is common today. Everybody working in the studio for the Stones will have a personal password to log into the harddiscs which all have digital watermarks that cannot be wiped out. If there would appear a track somewhere they would immediately know which harddisc it comes from and who has spread it. Noone would be so stupid to try this, so don´t hope for anything appearing from the sessions before the album is released. Thank you. Amen.

LOL..well thats got the source narrowed down somewhat!
but what the hell, when I got a low gen copy of the DW outtakes in early 87 (before they had been bootlegged on vinyl or CD) I was told it was dad himself who had given the tapes to someone!

I heard that story too, that Wood gave two tapes to journalists in order to have listen what the Stones were working on!

First time I hear this....can you tell us more about this ? How did the band react ?
I was always asking myself how VB & VS and VR made their way from the studio to the public... I mean, they are like official albums...art and soundwise.

I wouldn't go that far. His playing integrates nicely with the band - but he's no Musselwhite or Butterfield, two name but a couple of great second-gen white players...
