No comments about the Brisbane Stones show planning?

I have spent the past few days trying to figure out if I should stay downtown Brisbane or on the Gold Coast, where I stayed last time the Stones performed in Brisbane. May be I should use a helicopter, like Mick had in 2003. Just need a sponsor...

Remember the venue is about an hour out of town on the train!

I was 1st in line for this show at my ticket outlet here in Melbourne. Asked for Tongue Pit tickets and was told there was only 4 in the system. I said try anyway. Didn't get them, so went for best available and got S42A - this was about 5 seconds after they went on sale. 20 seconds later all tickets were gone!

I wonder if most of the good seats are kept for VIP packages?

Anyway I am very excited for what will most likely be my last ever (and 18th) Stones show- almost 15 years to the day that I first saw them at the Memphis Pyramid on the 8th April 1999!

Entertainment Centre is at Boondall (north of Brisbane). It is about 30 minutes from the city on the Shorncliffe line. I wouldn't stay at the Gold Coast - too far (unless of course you want to do sightseeing there). I got S13 (Ronnie Wood side)

All these hotels are "Close by" but still not in Walking distance. According to some ratings the Virginia seems to be not to bad.

I think you would probably be better off staying in the city centre and catching the train to the Ent. Centre. You would have more choice of accommodation, dining and would find it easier to get to the airport the next day as well. The hotel at Virginia would be OK but you would be in the suburbs and need to use a taxi. The road to the Ent. Centre gets very backed up when concerts are on. There isn't anything in the way of restaurants around Virginia from my knowledge.

I got my tickets a week ago. Keep on rolling...

I have just scored a Tongue Pit ticket at face value from the Ticketek website, directed from the Entertainment Centre's own webpage! At this stage in the game I can hardly believe it but this is the confirmation email:

Date: Tue 18 Nov 2014 8:00PM
Venue: Brisbane Entertainment Centre
Melaleuca Drive
Boondall QLD 4034
Area: UPC
Section: SGAPIT
Row: -
Seat/s: -
Price Category: G.A. Tongue Pit - Standing
Ticket/Item Price: G.A. Tongue Pit - Standing
1 x GA Standing Tongue Pit @ $577.70 $577.70

That really is the one and only pit, yes?!

I missed out on the European dates but had this sudden whim that a visit to Oz would be a great adventure and here we are. I would have gone anywhere where the pit was still available but it looks like it's only Brisbane. Anyway, I'm one happy guy and thought I'd pass on the info that there just might be more available.

Would have loved to go to this show. But alas I've been travelling for the past year and have missed all the on-sales and spent all my money, haha! I did have a ticket for the Auckland show before the first tour was cancelled and opted for the refund.

Just hoping some P3 or P4 drop over the weekend. Can't believe the same ticket that was $230 for Bruce Springsteen earlier in the year is almost $600 for the Stones eye popping smiley

For anyone from out of town, give yourself plenty of time to get to the venue. The trains here in Brisbane are appallingly slow, and traffic on the highway that runs past the arena is always backed up on event nights at the Entertainment Centre. The Brisbane CBD is also in G20 lockdown at the moment, so try and avoid the city if you can.

Paperwork probably got mixed up with Obama's luggage when the president flew out and The Rolling Stones flew in at about the same time!

#1 a tidal wave tounge in orange
#2 a shark with red tounge
