New - Paul McCartney and The Beatles On Air Live At The BBC

The only contenders.

so 50 year old beatles material is the best new stuff out there. thats pretty scary

Not scary really...especially not if it was the best music ever made.

it was a joke. i don't ever count reissues or archive releases when talking about albums of the year

Just because you don't count it doesn't mean we can't. And I guess you might treat a Stones BBC release differently.

How anyone can like Arcade Fire is a mystery to me.

And how anyone can not respect someone else's taste is a mystery to me. smoking smiley

Respect has nothing to do with that.

LP of the year - Jason Isbell, Southeastern.

I saw them on Colbert. Possibly the worst band ever. I don't care for the Talking Heads but it made me understand just how good the Talking Heads were.

no i wouldn't treat it differently. to me best album of 2013 means brand new studio material recorded within the last few years

Motorhead - Aftershock

I still can't get over when Jethro Tull won best Heavy Metal Album at the Grammy's (or was it the AMA's?).

...If that mentality still holds true today, the David Bowie will walk away with those honors.drinking smiley

Fantastic album. One of the best debuts I heard in years.
2013 was a great year for debuts by female vocalists...Ashley Monroe, Kacey Musgraves.
