Actually, it's 8 years, 1 month, and 15 days. ABB was released on Sept. 5, 2005.

Approximately 71,208 hours without a new Stones album to lambast.

OK, thanks, that really puts it in perspective.

I'm giving them another 48 hours, but then I'm giving up hope.

At the risk of turning this into another Beatles thread, I'd like to point something out.

Love Me Do was released on Oct 5, 1962.
Let It Be was released on May 8, 1970.

The entire Beatles catalog was released over a period of 7 years, 7 months, and 3 days; a shorter amount of time than we've been waiting for a new album from the Rolling Stones.

Before 1983 The Rolling Stones was a full time project with new albums or tours every year. Since then the band is a part time side-project with years of vacation between tours or albums. That is the difference.

Let me guess .....it's time for the Stones to release a new album grinning smiley (for me a EP will do)

Maybe they are waiting for the usual suspects (the professional Stones haters here) to slow down their bashing of every album they have made since whenever. When was the last time there was NOT a thread on the front page related to bashing a Stones album? Looks like todays' bash du jour is about Undercover... and someone even made up an imaginary Stones album so people could bash on it.

The entire Beatles catalog would have fit into that gaping wound as well.

The implicaton from some appears to be that the whole 50th anniversary is a bit of a swizz!

The Stones have only existed for about 35 of the last 50 years.

Therefore they owe us another 15 years smiling bouncing smiley

They might have to go back to being a blues band after all...coz they sure as hell won't be running about when they're 85 !

I remember when the Who released a box set and a video titled 30 Years Of Maximum R&B, and people saying it should have been called 18 Years Of Maximum R&B; 12 Years Of Maximum R&R (Rest and Relaxation).

Really puts it into perspective when you consider that the entire Brian Jones Era lasted 6 years, 10 months, and 27 days.
