Come on Randy. You've got to pull through.
A true country legend. Amazing vocalist. One of the best in the genre.

Billboard news story.

>>> (CNN) -- Country singer Randy Travis is hospitalized in critical condition with a viral heart infection, his publicist said Monday. Travis, 54, was admitted to an unidentified Texas hospital on Sunday because of complications related to his "recently acquired viral cardiomyopathy," Travis spokesman Kirt Webster said in a written statement. ... "To say that Mr. Travis' alcohol use exacerbated his problems would be pure speculation, but if someone told me alcohol played a role in his cardiac problems, I wouldn't be surprised," Oskoui said. (Dr. Ramin Oskoui, a cardiologist and internal medicine specialist in Washington) <<<

Sad news. Randy, Dwight Yoakam and a few others turned me on to new country music in the mid eighties. From there it was just a small step for me to the old guys and traditional country music (J. Cash, Hank W., Willie, Merle ... you name it). I hope he will get better soon and stop drinking.

He's a stone cold drunk. Feel bad for him. He's sort of on that cusp before modern country music became radio 'remember when we was young?' crap.

Isn't it only fair that Randy's condition join that of his career?

"I was performing on stage, and Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall were in the audience, and I just knew they were seeing all kinds of mistakes." — Randy Travis
