Funny coming from a fellow (YOU) that has had multiple user names. What do they call people like you? Oh, that's right, they call them hypocrites.

It's obvious you are the ignorant one here. This is why we can't have a reasonable discussion. Never could.

Doesn't matter that you used them one at a time. The fact is that you have had multiple user names. Hypocrite!

No.Do you even see what you mean? Our minds are obviously wired differently. I think you are an idiot and you obviously think I am an idiot. Some people just can't communicate. That's us. So let's stop. You are the one that is fixated on me, not me on you.

You really need to stop quoting and responding to yourself even as examples. This time you repsponded to the same name. All the other times you respond to your other names, sometimes months or even a year apart. The names change but it's the same garbage.

So simply stop sticking your head into my garbage.

It is difficult or rather impossible to generate the specific Stones sound without Keith Richards. There is no guitarist who sounds like Keith. But it would be clever if Ronnie would do the solo on SFTD. Keith's efforts are really awkward. I don't understand why he isn't able to avoid the slip into off-key-passages what he is used to do again and again on this tour.

Without Keith, no Stones!! Just leave his guitar out, there's nothing left. Their music wouldn't have any power! Give him a bit of a break here! Keith is no Clapton or Knopfler! Keith plays with a certain feel and NOBODY can play like that. I agree that he doesn't play like he used to. The Stones have never been flawlees live but that's part of their charm. It's only rock and roll!

OK, but can you explain what happened the other night with SMU? This is an awful way to start a show.
Yes I can tell you: Keith read your stupid comments on IORR and gave you some Food for thought. hot smiley You did not know? Silly Boy, now you know.

Good! I hope it "lights a fire" under him and he gives the performance of his life this coming Saturday night! Just like my words did for Glastonbury!smoking smiley

Yeah, baby! Thought he was listening in! Go get um tiger!smoking smiley

Keith is playing better than ABB tour, I think most of the fans would agree he sounds like he belongs.....

But lets just say that he couldn't play anymore because his arthritis or brain issues prevented him from doing so....and lets say he still had the energy to be on stage for 2 hours a show.....even then he shouldn't lay his guitar down, no he should keep it on, keep playing it....just don't plug him in....the fans want to see him, or it wouldn't be the Rolling Stones.

This is not a good post. if you do not have Keith you do not have the Rolling Stones. That is all I am posting on this one.

The purpose of this multiple username thread discussion is to make fools of those who want to give an honest opinion about the always provocative title. I think it's pathetic, and I can't understand why in a forum with so clear and supervised rules, this shite keeps occurring.

Only the blindest of the blind would not admit that Keith has lost a major step or two. All the notes in between are missing, like the teeth on an old comb. Maybe it is time for Keith to hang it up, but as long as there are fans who will pay to seem him stand there, he must not feel like quitting yet. And at this stage, no Keith, no Stones. The time to replace him in the band is never. I was unimpressed when I saw him the first night in Los Angeles. Then something came roaring out of the furnace dark and dangerous for Jumping Jack Flash and Keith was great.

If you don't like the Stones live anymore, don't see them. Mick is still great, Ronnie is steady, Charlie has moments, and Keith is torn and frayed. They have a boatload of side musicians and singers of varying quality. That's it. Don't like, don't go see them. And relax, Bob Clearmountain is already working on that opening to Start Me Up.

Much wisdom in this post.

The people who think this is about a few bum notes are deaf (not blind). A typical Keith solo is he starts off OK, hits the right notes, and then looks at you and you think he's thinking "You know the rest" and we all do, and he doesn't play it.

People write about how good he is for 70 like it's amazing at that age he can string 5 notes together in the same key. (Sounds like Republicans talking about Colin Powell a decade ago: "he speaks so well", meaning for a black man). He is obviously a shell of his former self, with some great playign returning sporadically.

The Stones are great at covering for him; Chuck, Ronnie, Pierre crouching behind the amps. They still put on a great show.

And the Stones will never go on for 10 minutes without him. Ronnie will go back to the Faces, Charlie will play jazz and mick will do whatever he wants.

This is silly. On the other hand, he does need to "play within himself."

On a side note, there are many ways to defend Keith, but saying he is better than 06' and 07' is not one.

The Rolling Stones have nothing to prove anymore. They are living legends, a unique sum of their parts, they were the best garage band ever.
But being realistic: if they had to do an individual audition with their (contemporary) playing skills, being unknown musicians, they wouldn't even make it in an average all round cover band, maybe with the exception of Charlie Watts.grinning smiley

So actually this thread is completely irrelevant.

But he is playing better than 2006-2007. It's a valid point.

Don't misunderstand me, I love Keith Richards. He is the ultimate rock 'n roll warrior, a real battler, the Brett Favre of rock 'n roll, and my hero. But it is obvious that his time has passed. I really think this Saturday night should be it for my hero. As much as it pains me to say it, it is time for Keith to lay down his guitar and let the Stones roll on. Not saying he couldn't be involved with the writing of a new album, or that he couldn't guest (in Mick Taylor fashion) but it's (sadly) time for the Stones to look in another direction.

It was painful watching both Joe Namath and Muhammad Ali at the end of their great careers. I am feeling the same thing with Keith. He should do the noble thing and step down after Saturday night and let the mighty Stones roll on.

UNLESS YOU WERE THERE, YOUR OPINION IS JUST NEGATIVE AND NOT GROUNDED IN REALITY. He is not perfect, but he is doing FANTASTIC on this tour. Has been the entire tour. Sure some gigs are better than others, but it was that way on EVERY tour they have ever done.

So how come so many so called guitar experts around here disagree with you? And what about the intro the other night to SMU? You know it's bad when my ears cringe!

Your posts make my testicles cringe on a daily basis.

So he should retire based on a flubbed note at the start of a show that you werent at and havent even heard the rest of?

Its not for us or anyone to tell someone to retire. If we dont like it, we can always stop buying tickets, records, watching audience you tube clips or posting on websites.

You might wanna try it. It could well be therapeutic. For everyone concerned.

The Stones are not going to roll anywhere anymore! Their about ready to hang it up! No more albums and no more tours! Maybe a few more shows for the remainder of the year but thats all were going to see... Do you really think Charlie would play without Keith in the group at this stage of the game? Just how would you see this playing out? Ronnie and Mick going to see Keith and saying sorry mate your out, were going to tour without you! Like thats going to happen! Keith would show em the BLADE! Lol!

Simply ridiculous to think the Stones would EVER perform as the Rolling Stones without Keith. Even with all the nonsense that he caused for Mick and the band, they would not go on without him.....Not even worth speculating about.
