I thought it was Jumping Jack Flash single, followed by the later Beggar's Banquet album?

Really, they were a 'rock band' as you put it. They changed their sound a bit is all.

Mick slipping his shirt off and all that was like something from The Exorcist.

Brilliant.

I don't remember a scene like that in The Exorcist Gravity. Sure you got the right film? I remember loads of green puke and swearing but no bare torsos.

I do not agree the Stones to me have been a rock band since Satisfaction came out. Yes they had some poppy things but the songs always had an edge or feel to them I have never considered them to be a pop band. JJF did point them in a new direction but you could hear it coming. listen to the outtake of Yesterday's Papers Keith's guitar is not close to what the song ended up like. Miss Amanda Jones and the wild opening riff you could hear where Keith wanted to go before the rest of the band followed.

This whole rock/pop divide is really simple-minded thinking.

I don't recall people manning the "border patrol" back in the day, like they do now.

When I saw that i-tunes listed the Beatles as "pop," (which some of their songs are, but at the end of the day The Beatles were a rock n roll band, end of story) I finally understood where that point of view was coming from.

The Rolling Stones have been a rock n roll band for 50+. Listen to "Carol" if you need proof.

He's definitely possessed.

The British public must have wondered what was going on here.

Lady Jane and Ruby Tuesday etc etc shows there is far more to them than rock and roll. Thankfully.
