Does anyone know the difference between a silver disc and a CDR? And where can you buy silver discs? In the U.S.? I've asked the children they have working at Office Depot and Best Buy and they look at me like I am from another planet.

A silver disc is a pre-recorded factory pressed disc that you cant record on. Where as a CDR is used for recording on with the record side not silver but usually a blue or green color....You dig.

Factory Girl presses factory CDs ;-)
Both silver CDs and gold CDs are CDs. Then again, why are CD-Rs not called blue CDs?

'Silver' CDs are made from aluminium so perhaps they should be called aluminium CDs.

CDRs are called that because you record on them, next lesson rocket science.

CDRs exist with Blue, Green, and even Black burning surface

I heard that the black ones were better, because more resistent to light damage.
I never tried, though...

I've had problems with older blue die
discs crapping out on me/ not playing,
a few years after I've burnt them and
all was fine. Check some of your older
discs from maybe 4 to 5 years ago.

Has anybody else expereinced this? Or know
why it happens???????
