Did they say anything about him? You think they would. The Doors are legitimate contemporaries. And they had similar Ed Sullivan troubles!

They won't play a Doors song, but Mick maybe will say something about Ray.

They could play Little Red Rooster - and say something about Ray, cause The Doors used to play the same song.

Stones couldn't Doors and vice versa. Like Laurence Olivier and Steve McQueen switching parts. So, yeah, a blues standard would have been the preferred choice. Stones could also have done John Lee Hooker's Crawling King Snake (from "L.A. Woman" album).

Yeah, but the Stones did that cover before the Doors were even formed.

I do agree, though, that a brief mention in memory of Ray's passing prior to performing 'Little Red Rooster' in L.A. would be sufficient.

Why would they? There's no relation whatsoever...

Kind of. While they shared a few years, the Stones were already legends before the Doors even began.

>>They are in LA. Should the R. Stones play a Doors song?>>

No. There's not a single song by The Doors that I could imagine would fit Rolling Stones

Totally true. The Stones have seen many many musicians pass over the years. Manzerek is no exception.

If a Soft Parade is a part of a deal.....no thanks. I'm not a fan of their 1967-1969 material, with a couple of exceptions....Touch me, Strange Days, Love Me To Times and Waiting For The Sun (the song)...The Doors just ain't my thing; but their last album, LA Woman, is truely a great one
