I'm a drummer myself,
a lot of times I feel like my favourite stone Charlie !
(Once I met the man himself, in Berlin)

Sharon . . .

Also, I remember comedian Steven Wright saying, "The Stones, I love the Stones, I can't believe they're still doing it after all these years. I watch them whenever I can . . . Fred, Wilma . . ."

We love them all! Each has a special place in our hearts. Mick, Keith, Charlie, Ronnie, each so different but so vital.

How cute

I'm probably too old to play this kind of game, but here it goes:

1. Keith Richards

2. Mick Jagger

3. Brian Jones

4. Charlie Watts

5. Bill Wyman

6. Mick Taylor

Keith - for being himself, always (no matter how ugly), and for leading the great shift in direction that came with Beggar's Banquet and led to some of their greatest work.

Charlie - for staying true to his anti-rock star persona, still being a trooper after 50 years, and being an amazing drummer.

Mick - obviously there are no Stones without Mick, his songwriting contributions are great, and his showmanship second to none. But this is about "favorites" and I just never liked anything the guy had to say off the stage, and he's not a strong singer. Great mimic though.

Ronnie - for helping to keep Mick and Keith together, and having a sense of humor about the whole thing.

Brian - for pushing them musically, and for getting them together in the first place.

Mick Taylor - great guitarist, I am a huge Mick T fan. He would rank higher if he had stuck around longer and played on more of their great recordings.

Did I forget anyone?

Oh yes. Bill Wyman. I'm not a bass player but when I listen to him, I hear pretty cool stuff. Then again, I hear interesting choices when Keith is on Bass too. I don't know what to make of Bill and his bitterness, but I thank him for his role in producing a ton of music I love.
