The 02 stuff was better than the PPV version for sure, but I'll still take the 97/98 versions ANY day. Its all about the beat.
1997 - rocknroll (not rock, there is roll)
2012 - jazzy rock
"It's all about the beat" - yes, sure, but the beat is hardly there in those 97/98 versions - and no swing at all.
2012 versions are much closer to the original - but the best live versions of The Last Time are from the mid-60's anyway.

OK I take it all back... Tom Jones IS the Vegas Stones. 
I much prefer the Bridges version...
