Shrimp - and I remember just the opposite?? regarding the song: Sway..
could have swore Taylor or Jagger was quoted as saying that Taylor's solo
continued.. it somehow involved the Live version he did with Carla Olson
on her live CD with Taylor - 1990 Roxy L.A.

Come to think about it it might have been Carla who told me that when I ran
into het a a Virgin record store out here, we talked for about 30 minutes,
everything from Dylan sessions to Taylor & the Stones and her recording
Sway & Winter???

Oh yeah that was a good one.I was thinking of that today. How he out Chuck Berryed Keith on that one. My three great MT solos on Stones studio tracks would be:

Time Waits For No One (It could go on forever)
Sway (Great musical climax also love Jagger's open G guitar)
Moonlight Mile (Probably the Stone's most stunning song. Ever)

One of his best solos away from the stones was with Alvin Lee from Nov 1981 on a song called Can,t Stop.

VIBRATO

Play that guitar boy.

1. Time Waits For No One
2. You can't always get what you want, Brussels 1973 - after almost 30 years of listening to it it still thrills me
3. Midnight rambler, Brussels 1973 - same

On the last two songs the interplay between Richards and Taylor is incredible.

1) 100 Years Ago
2) I don't know why AKA I don't know why I love you
3) Winter

I'd like to say that MT was smoking on Goats Head Soup, IMHO the Stones record with the finest guitar by MT.

1) YCAGWYW- 73 Brussels
2) Gimmie Shelter - L&G
3) SFTD- Ya Ya's

Those are pretty easy and well known. I hooe I didn't break the changing rules and get in trouble.

There's one off his first studio album that reminds me of Time Waits for No One- but I can't think of the title. But I'll stick stick with the three above.

don't give me that ole one two, one two three four

#Satisfaction, MSG (Gimme Shelter version)
#You Can't Always.., Fort Worth 1st.
#Street Fighting Man, London sept.9 '73

Last night in Holland on Time Waits For No One.
First time ever played live by an original member of the band.
Unbelievable how the guy plays this song just out of the blue.

All of Mick Taylor's best solos can be found in the movie "Ladies & Gentlemen"

1-YCAGWYW
2-Gimme Shelter
3-Love in Vain

P.S. When are the Stones going to finally release this film. The Stones at their BEST!!!

Wait wait, Mick Taylor only plays part of the solo on YaYa's sympathy.
The second part if I'm not wrong and the second part of the solo is not so great.
The first part of the solo, the very best IMHO is played by Keith.
The style is very very different.

MT was very technical, faster player than Keith but fast and technical is not all, as the punk movement have showed in the late 70's....

Has no-one mentioned CYHMK?

Anyway, that one and all of the above combined and then divided by two.

And for my third choice:

Through the Lonely Nights - is their a better short one?
