A recent post complained of a non-playing disk, to which it was suggested that a 'DVD decrypter' be obtained.

I have no idea what a 'decrypter' is but are you aware that many DVD players can be reprogrammed, via the remote control, from a single region player into a multiregion player?

All I can say is, 'it worked for me' and I am able to enjoy films I have imported from all over the world.

I do know that some brands, such as Sony and Pioneer, cannot be 'soft hacked' and will need hardware modification to convert them into multiregion players.
