Show number 2: London O2 Arena Nov. 29 show updates
Posted by: bv ()
Date: November 28, 2012 00:59

Tomorrow Thursday is the day for the 2nd show. The Rolling Stones are back to the O2 Arena in London to perform with guests including Bill Wyman and Mick Taylor among others. Please post your pre-show and post-show thoughs and reports here.

The Pilot Inn pub is once more the recommended place to meet up on show day during the afternoon. It is a nice pub just a few steps past the O2 Arena. As you stand just outside the O2 main entrance, the tube station is to your right, the needle and the parking and park is in front of you. Walk straight ahead, with the Emitates building soon to your left, through the park, and you are there in 5-10 minutes. Food, drinks, memories, many fans visiting IORR.

See you!

The Stones usually begin a tour in the USA!!!

I'm jealous but happy again...

I guess Bill Wyman doesn't really like to fly anymore and just stay in London!

Thanks for holding the fort, it sounds like you're going to be first in line...hopefully you have a pit ticket!

I for one am teetering on the brink of giving it one more/last shot...I mean how many more times will I be able to see Taylor play with them? One could argue that once was enought, but...

I find it interesting that the set list for Nov 25 followed a certain rough formula -- First 11 songs were largely chronological, then they had two Wyman songs, two Keith songs, and then closed out with 8 warhorses/big hits. I wonder if upcoming set lists will preserve the nature of this "formula". If they swap out any of the first 11, will chronology be preserved? Do we know that from here on out, once Keith finishes, the rest of the show will be all warhorses/big hits? No complaining here, and no requesting anything. Just musing....found it quite interesting how the first 11 songs were assembled and enjoyed that. Also, it seems with the commitment to song specific artwork for Honky Tonk Woman and Tumbling Dice, it is hard to imagine either of those not being played in every show (and glad about that too). BTW, i hate to admit it, but i really enjoyed the Anime reverse themed video that accompanied Honky Tonk Woman.

I said earlier that tickets will now flood the market.......once the excitement and hype from the opening show is gone and everyone has watched the YouTube clips, it all becomes rather mundane.

Another reason why the pre mobile phone era really was the golden age......

Yes.

Also affectionately known as the pianist on Bowie's first masterwork Hunky Dory. And he will definitely need to return to that spirit and sprinkle in a little Leon Russell if the Stones (or should we say their ticketbrokers) are just gonna pencil him into the lineup like that. lol.

He'll be playing excerpts from The Six Wives Of Mick Jagger.

There hasn't been ONE show in 25 years I visited where you couldn't buy tickets just before the show -and that includes Paradiso and all the club gigs in 2003.

Florence? Why? She's got nothing to add! At least May J Blige has got the voice, but Florence? Totally overrated.

Clapton on the other hand would be cool!
