Lisa Fischer is a wonderful singer, but these backup singers are too polished. I never liked their contribution - too slick and polished and perfect - that's not the Stones' music.
Mick just wants to have his onstage antics/kicks with a beautiful woman-of-color, even if its pretend... Tonguing Ronnie is just not enough anymore.

About halfway down the page, under his post that says, "Getting ready for London Shows." In the comments below a fan asks "Is Lisa there?" and a short time later Bernard responds, "She is here."
Trust me, I've heard plenty of '72 performances, and while I agree, this was perhaps their best tour ever, I've always preferred when they use the female vocalist on GS. Mick covering the female lead singing "rape, moyduh" with fake Jersey accent doesn't cut it for me.
Thanks, found it. So with "stripped down" this time they (or Keith) seemingly meant no horn section and no Blondie Chaplin maybe? So there would be the 4 Stones plus Darryl Jones, Bobby Keys, Bernard Fowler, Lisa Fisher and some guests. I hope they will do a good Gimme Shelter.

I was too - personally I prefer Keith as backup. I'm not listening to the Stones for Vegas-like backup singers.

lisa is an astoundingly average singer. and let's face - she was never really there for her singing in the first place. if it was all about singing, there were far more appealing choices available.

Nope. The best version of GS was Paradiso '95. Hands down, argument over.
You must not have been there in 72..and thats all that needs to be said...

Keith and Ronnie as back up singers. Get Bill back on bass. MT as guest guitarist. Bobby Keys on sax. Ernie Watts on drums, no relation to Charlie. Ian Maclaglan on keys. Can the rest, end of story. Oh and open with Fingerprint File.

Agree that stripped down would be better. But remember that Keith no longer wants to (is able to?) sing and play at the same time. So somebody is needed to cover his vocal parts.

Those monster lead licks from MT in 72/74 just cant be beat, along with Nicki's killer piano on the 72 intros. And Mick's vocals were brutal-when he sang "its just a shot away" you believed it! Also Keith's harmony vocals on "YCAGWYW" and Taylor's "leave the preachin' to the preacher" scorching guitar will never be matched..

so much for the stripped down stones......this is bad news here comes the satisfaction opera instead the satisfaction rock tune.....she's was great on shelter in '95-'02 but she is no longer needed.....she can't carry it anymore and she ruins too many other songs........I'm fine with bernard.....but lisa=NOOOOOOOOOOOO WAY!!!!
