OT: If You Could Hang with One Musician...

...from the past or present, for one hour, who would it be?

My short list: Vivaldi or Bach, Duane, Robert Johnson, Paul Mc, Keith, Elvis...

All told, think I'm going with Paul.

the common theme so far seems to be this is conditional that sobriety is not in the mix...

Can I count Marilyn Monroe as a "musician"? She did sing.

I wouldn't need an hour though. One minute... two tops.

None. I prefer the impersonal distance from well-known musicians I admire, the company of whom I would never belong in anyway. I would rather enjoy what they have produced, as even an hour of social contact might change what I think of them personally, and I would rather not think of them in the personal sense....

Only ever been one for me. Keef. Then, now, whenever.

In no particular order: Brian Jones, Keef, Syd Barrett, John Lennon, Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Elvis.

While we're on this topic, you would be the last musician I would choose to hang with.

I must say, you made my day by referring to me as a musician! Thank you.

I'd like to say Keith Moon, but I'm not sure if I could survive that one (that's not meant as a bad joke, but given Keith's partying lifestyle, even Townshend said he couldn't always keep up with Keith).
I think stonesnow put it best. To see your favorite musician up close could be very a depressing thing.

But to hang out with and party ? George harrison was a very deep soul
I would choose him.

And one of those old concert pianist like Bach...

2. Richard Thompson
3. Eliza Carthy
4. Keith Richards
5. David Harrington of The Kronos Quartet
