I bought Neil Young's greatest hits and if you want some great guitar interplay
listen to Down By The River and Cowgirl in the sound.The rhythm guitar and disorted electric guitar come right out of the speakers and make you pick up your
guitar.

Keith and Ronnie have not done that interplay or the ancient form of weaving
since Some Girls.

Neil Young and Danny Witten sure sound great.

What about Emotional Rescue, parts of Dirty Work (both great guitar albums) & VL ??

Agree with JR aprat from VL!.....but also Undercover! (eg Pain of Love, She Was Hot).

Methinks SW is also great guitar album - though mainly lead/rhythm - little 'weaving'.

I often refer to some guitar as reaching 'orchastrational' levels sometimes. One or two screeming guitars creating a full orchastrated sound.Neil does this more consistantly than anybody else.

Now I've never been 'cowgirl'd' in the sand. I think they prefere hay. California girls will do it in the sand.

Two power guitar punch n' weave or

be it the Stones, Neil Young/ Crazy Horse
what have you. It's often sadly missing these

The Stones have also usually overdubbed more than 2 guitars - I was listening to the singles collection & noticed at least 4 on 'Spider & the Fly,' for example. They really crafted those classics carefully. I think Crazy Horse originally was a great band; alas they made only one 'solo' album before Jack Nitzsche split & Danny Whitten died. Its worth getting if you dig Neil & don't know it ("Crazy Horse", Reprise 1971/ also on CD) - Neil contributes a song). I am a Neil fan but the rhythm section can be a bit, whats the word, leaden? I assume its intentional, but makes "Road Rock vol 1" & "Year of The Horse" & "Arc/Weld" hard to digest in a saingle sitting. I do Love 'Everybody Knows This is Nowhere."
