...So, Brian got 50 percent of the gage and the others had to split the other half?

Not too far away from the truth. On the 30th of April 1963, Brian Jones met Andrew Loog Oldham and Eric Easton at Radnor House (Regent Street 93-97) to discuss a record contract between Brian Jones on behalf of The Rolling Stones and IMPACT Sounds. This was the basis for the contract Impact Sounds later signed with Dick Rowe and DECCA on the 7th of May 1963. (But you should ask MattLee for details as he owns the original contract!) A new contract was signed on the 21st of May 1963 between L.B. Jones representing The Rolling Stones and Impact/DECCA. This contract would give The Rolling Stones 6 % royalties from Impact (but it wasn’t revealed to Brian that Impact would get 14 % from DECCA) and Brian was supposed to be paid £5 more weekly than the other members of the band. It was at this moment that Ian Stewart was out of the picture. A quite treacherous move from Brian, because Stu was his original friend in the band (the 2nd and not the sixth stone, to quote the man himself).

Anyway, back to the 30th of April. On that evening, The Stones did a show at Eel Pie Island, and Bill recalls how angry and disappointed the rest of the band was when it was revealed that Brian had made an agreement that was very favourable to him and not the others. Brian lost a lot of respect from this.
