I was in France back in April and was looking for something to watch on late-night television.
After flipping several channels, I found the live broadcast of the NASCAR race from Martinsville, Virginia with French announcers.
Surprised the heck out of me.
Did they try to add a NASCARtwang to their French accents?

Anybody wayching F1 right now...
WOW!! How about those blazing helicopter shots? The helicopter must be going 150-200 mph along with the cars to grab some awesome flying shots. THis new track is aewsome.

Looks like Austin has a HUGE HIT with its new F1 track and all the other things it can do, like a 15,000 seat music ampitheater... Props to them. GOOD JOB!!

F1, of course. Nascar is almost unheard of in Europe. I wish they would have more F1 races in the US though to market the sport better over there. And a succesful American F1 team with top drivers.

You're doing good, Max. What about Indy Car though? We had a very successful Indy Car driver here from Karlstad, Värmland, Sweden namely Kenny Bräck. He had an awful accident though and had to retire (he's doing well now by the way). He drove for David Letterman's team (have forgotten the name of it). He won the Indy 500 in 1999.

Way back when.... when the guy who owns the Indy speedway, and I guess the right to the name... they split the series into two parts..... and then drivers got older and retired... and then 2nd series died off, leaving juts the IRL (Indy racing league).... and it was never quite the same... to me anyway. So I mostly follow F1 and NASCAR. I am pretty happy to have 2 F1 races back in the states (next year in NYC area)... which should lead to more interest.Quote
