Hi Mandu,

Bjornulf has directions in the forum help tab at the top of the page here, but the easiest way is to post from a photobucket.com account. Once you join, photobucket does a fairly good job at walking you through the steps to copy and paste a photo onto a website.

If I can do it, anyone can...good luck! smiling smiley

Practice with a picture sitting on the web already...

[i.imgur.com]

click that link...

Once the picture is showing,
look at the in the address bar, copy the address...
it looks like http: //i.imgur. com/9ylWV. gif
but it does not have the spaces, I only add them so the "code" shows up....

then paste the addess between [ I M G ] copied address [ / I M G ]
but do not have the spaces. I only add them so the "code" shows up....

IT IS EASIER THAN ALL OF THOSE WORDS MAKE IT, I am over explaining.

Once you can post pictures from anywhere parked on the web, now you have to park your picture somewhere on the web. There are a lot of free places like [tinypic.com] [imgur.com] [photobucket.com]

Photobucket is free but more complicated, you need an account, but you can control you pictures more, like delete them. [tinypic.com] and [imgur.com] are ok for one time use, for quickly posting pix, but are not as powerful, but you dont have to set up an account.

And I will add this quote from gotdablouse for another place to park pictures-

A nice no BS place to upload pictures is ImagiLive : [www.imagilive.com] totally it will even resize them for you if need be.

Park your picture on one of thsoe sites or somewhere.....
then open your picture in a web window, copy the address...and
then paste the addess between [ I M G ] copied address [ / I M G ]
but do not have the spaces. I only add them so the "code" shows up.

Again it is easier than all of those words... it is simple, but
feel free to ask if you would like clarification, or I missed something.

The more good pictures posted on IORR, the better IORR is.

I think everyone should check out this page actually, it is both about IORR policy and troubleshooting. See the the link on the top of the forum pages:

Then check out this section

Actually, that would be a great addition to the forum, to be able to upload a picture directly from your PC. Many forums can do this. It will of course put additional strain on the server since all pics are now residing there. But, there will never be a 'this picture no longer exists' problem, and loading of pics will be fast.

Every picture tells a story... and
A picture is worth a 1000 words... but
I think storing one picture takes up the same space as 1,000,000+ text words.

I bet all of IORR, as it is, takes up hardly any storge space at all, even with its 2500 pages, but if he started storing/hosting pictures it would start taking up A LOT of storage space and would change the whole deal, I think anyway.
