Wow, that was cool. Come on Mick reinstate poor Owen. Seems he made a silly mistake.

Some say never let the truth get in the way of a good story. They are never lifetime, only ever valid for one tour. It’s very normal if you are issued a non photo (without your picture) all access laminate for it to be returned after the gig or the number in issue on just one tour could get out of control (pun intended). In more recent years laminates for non tour staff have been custom for each show or at least one of several colours helping to control the ability to recycle them.

Thanks for the info mattleeuk. As you can imagine there's always been a lot of folklore about these. The backstage phenomenon, was really big way back when. I suppose it's a tame affair these days, or?

I wonder on what tour this incident occurred? Wilson mentioned it happened in Argentina so that narrows it down a bit.

If anyone deserved a lifetime Stones pass it would be BV - not random celebrities. But by now a lifetime Stones pass would only count for a year or two of course...

Maybe Owen needed a little more drama for his story.....
Therefore the whole thing is a bit staged!

Possibly Owen was confused.

No truth to this story whatsoever - No such laminate exists. Every ticket is paid for with no exceptions. This c-lister only wishes he had a lifetime pass.

That's not strictly true. Each principal band member has a small number of complimentary tickets (you can count them on your digits). In addition there are a small number of passes which are valid for an individual show and an even smaller number valid for a whole tour. If you have a pass valid only for an individual show you still need a pit ticket / wristband to get into the pit.

This story doesn't pass the smell test in my opinion. Never had the ring of truth to it.
