A bit too expensive for me, but an interesting video about this rare cover.

"Orange & red most compelling colours to the human eye"...wow, you learn something new every day. LOL

These two sure were in 'sales mode'!

But very interesting they sold a copy for $81000 recently. I hadn't heard that.

That is mammoth.

Did you grab the CD Singles set, 68-71? It was great they had that as part of it.

I always thought it woulda been nice to include it as part of the Beggar's Banquet deluxe set, and it wouldn't have diluted the price of the original.

Unfortunately it no longer has any value as I was trying to fake a copy of Mick Jagger's signature on it and tore it because I was pressing too hard with the pen, which didn't have any ink as it turns out.

Man, you sure can't always get what you want.

It faded quickly after Exile. I remember hearing the song IORR in a headshop when it was released. I was pissed. What do you mean It's ONLY rock and roll? They kind of went after being a good timey band after that. The 1978 tour had a little danger to it. Just looking at Keith, practically green, kicking junk. By 81/82 it was Jovan corporate sponsorship.

But that's the difficulty of aging. If they'd kept up that 'danger' hype, as an middle-aging impossibly rich band, they'd have looked completely hypocritical. And as far as Keith kick H, that pretty much had to happen...it wasn't as if he'd have lasted much beyond the 70s.

They WERE the establishment now...mission accomplished. Unless they were to make the conscious decision to go political, which except for a couple of minor mentions through the years (High Wire, Sweet Neo Con), they seemingly made the decision to completely steer clear of.
