Wow, I always knew that Olympic Studios was iconic but when you see their 100 albums list...man.
3 of the 'big four', most of the Zeppelin catalogue (or at least every album that mattered), Bowie, The Who, The Cult, The Cure, Van Morrison and on and on...

Many of you will know that Olympic Studios in Barnes, London has now been turned into a high-end cinema and a very nice cafe
But did you know it now has its own record shop ?
On the other side of Church Road it is small but well stocked and specialises in records recorded at Olympic. Ask Roger nicely and he will show you some of their master tapes - I saw Neil Diamond and Eric Clapton.

Well worth a visit and Barnes itself is lovely - we had lunch at the Coach & Horses (Youngs) but the Sun Inn is good too

That's the inverse of Stax and Hi studios in Memphis, both contained in buildings that originally were movie theaters.

The guy who found the master tapes in the dustbins outside Olympic went home to get a wheelbarrow. In the interim a second passer-by recovered the master tapes for Electric Ladyland which she sold to Hendrix's estate for £128k!
