He was one of the best interviewers in Rolling Stone magazine in its glory years. Reading Rolling Stone was almost a required thing back then. I still have the issue(s) covering Altamont, the Stones, Keith and Mick in solo interviews from back in the day, Dylan, packed away along with other particular issues of Rolling Stone. I am sure there are a number of folks on this site who read and remember Rolling Stone in its (youthful) being part of the counterculture days.
