I used to go down there to eat and drink and then late at night ride that subway all the way up to 72nd and Broadway, grab a hot dog at Gray's Papaya and stumble home to 71st St and West End. Miss that.

I understood the corner of west 8th street & 6th avenue used to be a gay area, or a gay prostitute area. Any truth in that?

Hey Tele '71...My father had a place on W 72 & West End Ave for decades. Greys used to be .50 ...still pretty good last time I had a one a few years back.
Jackson Hole...where Jenifer Aniston used to work.
Used to go down to the Lone Star Cafe & catch Mick Taylor, Jorma or Rick Danko & or various Band members.
Saw Ron Wood & Bo Diddley at the Riz.
Used hit the Pier 84 for a bunch on shows...Santana, Band, Van Mo, Neil, SRV...
Ah....some good ol memories.
