In case you've ever wondered..here they are on the telly in the UK circa 1976. Maybe its me, but the adjective "excruciating" comes to mind...it appears the audience has been sedated to endure it..great quality footage though!

I vote excruciating.

Saw this line-up once, opening for Aerosmith at the Forum in '75. Awful.

You wonder why they would bother to carry on without Ian Hunter, but I guess they thought if the Small Faces could persist without their front man and become Faces...well why not?

It didn't work this time.

Less expectations when they changed the name to British Lions.

Horrifically bad. That Hunter replacement Mott singer is an abomination. They'd have been better off letting Overend Watts cough out a never-ending series of Born Late '58 rewrites.

And I'm a big fan of Mott the Hoople. BTW, Brain Capers is an overlooked classic.
