He wrote some great stuff. How many of us have our own version of Felix and Oscar in our lives?

I'd show you a photo of my room, if I could find it.

Neil Simon did a cameo in an Odd Couple episode, where Oscar talks Felix into helping him do theater reviews while filling in for the newspaper's theater critic.

They're outside a theater after a show and Felix wants to get Neil Simon's autograph. Mr. Simon obliges, then walks off with Felix's pen.

Aw, c'mon -- no more love here for Neil Simon?

Nobody else cried at the end of The Goodbye Girl?

They cut off that beautiful song, Goodbye Girl, by Bread. Yes, it made me cry. RIP Neil.

Many good stage plays and screenplays.

Probably my favorite is this bit:

"I can't take it anymore, Felix, I'm cracking up. Everything you do irritates me. And when you're not here, the things I know you're gonna do when you come in irritate me. You leave me little notes on my pillow. Told you 158 times I can't stand little notes on my pillow. "We're all out of cornflakes. F.U." Took me three hours to figure out F.U. was Felix Unger!"

He came from the same talent pool that gave the world Woody Allen, Mel Brooks, Carl Reiner, and Larry Gelbart. Quite an amazing collection of talent.
