And dated! In an afternoon they burn as much gas as a mid-size city does in a year.
Plus the "event" gathers more hookers and coke dealers than a mid-80's Motley Crue tour. smoking smiley
Yuck!

Monaco, Monza and Spa... love F1 and been watchin' every race possible for years!

Indy was great when it ran the F1, a 2 hour drive west for me!

I also started my day with Monaco, then as much of the 500 as I could see, now watching the Coca Cola 600 from Charlotte, though I rarely watch NASCAR these days... I'm a Richard Petty fan since I was young(!), and the history just isn't the same anymore.

My bud wants to do Kentucky, but it's a work weekend for me, and he understands the trip to the UK for Stones gigs in Coventry and Manchester is usin' up my vacation hours at work...

Right on TK! smileys with beer

I also am done with stock car racing as of a couple of years ago...
BUT... today is gasoline day for me, as it has been for me for 40 years.

A mans got to have some traditions, even if most of the people I shared these traditions are long gone away, I still do it and it is still fun, the best day of auto racing all year. I am sitting here watching Race Day as it turned into the Coke 600, one of the longest and most interesting races they hold. 600 miles is a long long race for these cars... and even if I dont study this series anymore I will always watch this 3rd and final race of Gasoline Day until...

and after this race I will peek in on game 7 of the NBA almost final, even if I could not care less who wins or who is playing... if/when it is close in the 4th quarter of game 7 deciding who plays for all the marbles... it is going to be some good watching

The guy who won comes from my home town in Australia, Daniel Ricciardo.

Stanley Cup Finals start tomorrow night, gonna be a bangin' series...

Vegas is an incredible story, but if the Caps win, I'll be able to say my beloved Blue Jackets were knocked out in the first round by the eventual Cup winner the last two seasons!

And that's all a CBJ fan really has so far to hang his hat on!!!

That is cool, I saw the Aussie flag flying but didnt know much about RIC, but the other drivers seemed happy for him and his car did great in all the practices with the new tires so it seemed like a good final, compared to some years where no one seemed happy... except the guy who won.
