Happy Birthday to the Grievous Angel!

What a prophetic song, it's hard to find a lovelier song than "In my hour of darkness", etc. "Who'd have ever thought they'd build such a deadly Denver bend."

with Linda Ronstadt.

In My Hour of Darkness
Gram Parsons

In my hour of darkness, in my time of need
Oh Lord, grant me vision oh, Lord grant me speed
Once I knew a young man went driving through the night
Miles and miles without a word but just his high beam lights
Who'd have ever thought they'd build such a deadly Denver bend
To be so strong, to take so long as it would till the end

In my hour of darkness, in my time of need
Oh Lord, grant me vision oh, Lord grant me speed

Another young man safely, strummed his silver stringed guitar
And He played to people everywhere some say he was a star
But he was just a country boy, his simple songs confess
And the music he had in him so very few possess
In my hour of darkness, in my time of need
Oh Lord, grant me vision oh, Lord grant me speed

The there was an old man kind and wise with age
And he read me just like a book never missed a page
And loved him like a father, and I loved him like my friend
And I knew his time could shortly come but I did not know just when
In my hour of darkness in my time of need
Oh Lord, grant me vision oh, Lord grant me speed
Oh Lord, grant me vision oh, Lord grant me speed

Per Alamo songs, everyone knows this not:

Yes, it is true that this is a fantastic song, however I disagree with title of the linked YouTube video as listing the artist as "Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris".

Gram Parsons was the artist. Emmylou Harris was the back up singer.

If she co-wrote it, that's good enough for me. We are talking about a youtube video, not a record. I have that record too; and got it back cerca 1978.

Also for my taste the best version of "Sing Me Back Home' was done by the FBBs while Graham was with them. And he must have sang lead.

Happy belated to GP. This is how I like to remember him. xx

"I don't ever think about tomorrow
Whether or why is all on another day"

"Nice bit of silk, Em."
