Loved their debut album and take on Sweet Jane, one of my fave VU songs, but have to admit haven't followed their career in the last 30 year.

I knew Pete Timmins (drummer) back in the 80s. We went to different high schools but occasionally hung out because of a mutual friend. That friend and I were probably one of the first to see the Junkies perform 'Sweet Jane' live in a mostly empty dive in downtown Toronto. I remember the few patrons in attendance were cutting coke at their table.

Never thought they had much of a future. Lost track of Pete soon after so you can imagine my surprise when, a few years later, I tuned into Saturday Night Live to hear them again perform 'Sweet Jane', this time to a substantially larger audience.

Pete was a Stones fan as I recall.

The Trinity Session, recorded in one night using one microphone by DAT recorder, is a masterpiece.

early albums are great (I do love them up until pale sun crescent moon) but also later stuff like the nomad series is really good
