Does Charlie Still Have Endurance For Two Hour Stones Concerts?

I mean, he is 70 years old after all? I think he still can, but what do you think?

I think it's a funny question. Practice sessions are five hours of tedious learning; shows are a breeze at two hours. Trust me on this one.

well if you take a look, since many years now Charlie has been practicing drums in constant apnea most of the time...a very economical method.
But to be sure that he can, I will suggest to provide him with an oxygen mask and should the occasion arise an automated external defibrillator.
Don't get me wrong, I suggest that cos I like Charlie !

I am curious. Does Charlie have any issues with arthritis?

I certainly don't think the Charlie Watts of the No Security Tour is around anymore. He's obviously still capable, but I think the nights of blowing everybody off the stage are over. All except Mick seemed to have lost a step. It just means they'll pull together tighter as a team.

You think Ronnie's lost a step since the No Security tour?

Right! Even at his heyday (the 1970 US tour) Hendrix never played more than 70-80 minutes per show.

The 2.5 hrs+ shows trend has been created by bands with no talent whatsoever : Led Zeppelin or the Dead.

i think he's "brushing up" on his endurance with his jazz act

Yes I think he can they all can as long as they don't play back to back nights which they didn't do last tour so they will all be just fine now quit acting like kids and plan a tour.

85-90 mins shows are to be prefered.

MORE EXCITEMENT.

WHo want's to see E-Street band or Led Zep for 3-4 hours? That's nonsense.

I don't know if Keith is the problem, but seing Charlie last Sunday, HE is in no way a problem. Moreover he is a booster.

Charlie Watts is the last person I worry about in the Stones. The man's rock solid, and has been so throughout their 49 years. Now Keef...

Well, one thing to remember, as a drummer you get to sit down...

Marv Peck

Y'all remember that rubber legged boy

That is funny but true, I play drums with some friends and we'll play for an hour, take a break, they will all sit down and I'll stand. No question Charlie at 70 is feeling it after 2 hours rocking out.

Looked pretty exhausted at the conclusion of 'Shine A Light'.

Of course he still has the endurance.
He's a fit looking 70 ..not 170 ;^).

Can he play them like he did when he was 30 or 40 ? probably not but ecomomy of effort is abig part of skilled drumming.

I just saw George Jones here in Austin Texas.
He rocked it without a light show, without effects, without a guitar!

He's 80

I wouldn't expect the shows (if any) would be longer than 90 minutes.
