Question for poster collectors : European tour 1970
Posted by: Doc ()
Date: November 22, 2016 16:37

Hi there

I've been shown a german 1970 concert poster and would like to know if some people here are owning a poster like this.

What is the size of an original poster ?
Were they printed on glossy paper ?
Any hints on how to make sure it's an original ?
What could be a reasonable price for an original ?
Thanks for all your info and feedbacks

many reads, no info.
I probably won't take the risk of purchasing a fake then...

I guess the only person with knowledge of all poster details would be mattleeuk. Maybe he could help you with the poster.

Don't have the poster...here's an offer by a seller I'm not connected with including some details and it's expensive...

Thanks

The one I've been offered is on glossy paper, I cannot see the little wordings printed at the bottom or the margins of this one and I won't clearly be able to afford purchasing a poster at such a price.
But I'd like to have as much accurate info as possible to determine if I found a cheap original or just a repro

Sorry for being off-topic here, but this poster refers to one of the best performances they ever did, imo.

The eBay one is expensive because it's an individual show and super rare. The generic tour one is much more available but also heavily reprinted. The most common reprint has a black strip across the bottom like the strip down the left hand side. Be careful though as sometimes sellers cut the strip off (but then the poster is too small). PM me, I'll help you.

A reprint, but reproduced directly from the original artwork and signed and numbered in pencil by John Pasche:

I have the same one. Buried somewhere in the cellar. Bought it in the seventies from a friend who was doing an education at a concert agency back then.

Thanks Jan
Which city is it and which size ?

According to [web.archive.org]
the originals without a city and a date were uncoated, i.e. not glossy...
