Any czech fans here ?
Looking for advice since I'll be for a few days in Prague for a few days
Record stores, bars, restaurants, Stones-related places...
Any interesting czech pressings of Stones records worth looking for ?

Thanks in advance

Love Prague!
Great Food (Schnitzel and duck especially)
Great Beer!

Check out the Strahov Monastery (Good food and they have their own beer).

...and the different varieties of Pilsner Urquell at various locations.

as advice from a non-Czech –> don't visit Prague in summer. Like people travel to Amsterdam to smoke pot (and for sex), people visit Prague to drink, get drunk etc. Prague is somehow East Europe's Amsterdam. Lots of horrible dunken tourists in summer, totally overcrowed

I lived there off and on in 2008 and 09. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore in the Old Town, down by Charles Bridge. Just walk and explore, eat and drink. Czech food is too heavy for me but actually the fried cheese with a good beer is a nice way to spend an evening (and get fat).

What type of pubs/bars/restaurants do you like?

There only a handful traditional pubs left in the centre, most notable are U Hrocha, U Jelinku, U cerneho vola and U zlateho tygra. The beer in all of these is outstanding. You can get addresses on internet.

A large density of non-touristic bars and pubs is in the part called Zizkov (about 3 tram stops from Main Train Station). Worth visiting. One particular pub with good selection of great beers is called U Slovanske Lipy.

I am not aware of any Stones related places but there a several clubs with good life music - you can check Malostranska beseda, Vagon, Blues sklep etc.

I hope this helps.

If you walk along the Charles Bridge, you will probably find a few paintings of the Stones for sale.....(at least I did when I was there (in the summer 2015).

I don't know, but Pilsner Urquell is everywhere. Overall Czech beer is my favorite. I'm sure I would be 50 lbs. heavier if I lived there.smileys with beersmileys with beer
