Should this song really be considered as a Rolling Stones song?

Nice melody that they could have put to far better on Aftermath.

Isn't the melody just a Blowin' in the Wind ripoff, Mike?

Compared to most songs of horrible Between The Buttons, this one seems to be not that bad at all.

Only inasmuch that it was featured on "Metamorphosis". The same question could legitimately asked about most of side 1.

Except for Don't Lie To Me (obviously), I wouldn't have these tracks on a Stones "rarities" compilation. I think they belong more to a "early solo works" Jagger compilation.

That's a strange comment, really. The song was released as "The Rolling Stones".
A song like "Play With Fire" also only featured Jagger and Richards, plus a session musician and we gladly accept that as a Stones song.
