Back in 2014, during the beginning of the recent wave of so-called "Christploitation" films launched with God's Not Dead, a film called The Identical was released. A faith-based ersatz Elvis movie, that also seemed to work as a "what if?" concerning his stillborn twin Jesse. The film contains so many beats that clearly show that "Drexel 'The Dream" Hemsley" is Elvis, and yet so many items that aren't at all indicative of him, with a wardrobe and look in the '60s and '70s more like Adam Duritz or Jim Morrison, even some moments with hair as curly as Slash, and have the "Elvis" killed in a Skynyrd-styled plane crash.

These are the reactions I expected. Seriously, what can you say to a movie like this? Why use Elvis for a faith-based knockoff film to pander to the evangelical crowd? After all, it's no secret that Elvis was a true believer, who recorded many gospel songs, which he won Grammys for! Why shove in something like this when it was already there? And what is up with this script, or the looks that "Drexel's" twin has, which doesn't look anything like Elvis?

Dude, you should get a job at the Onion.

This film seems like it should've come from the Onion. Sadly, this actually exists. If Priscilla and Lisa Marie knew that it did, these filmmakers would've been sued...hard.
