The Aftermath cover photo was by Guy Webster not David Bailey.
The NME has gone down since I used to read it.

Also kind of sad that they used one of those CD special edition versions of the Sticky Fingers cover instead of the real thing. Surely the NME has a photo of the original LP cover in their files.

Seems they've used CD's for all the cover images.

Out Of Our Heads shows US/Bailey cover.

Cool!

Some cool stories for instance I did not know Keith painted the Bunnyman.

'Voodoo Lounge' (1994): The title comes from the name Keith Richards gave to Ronnie Wood's granny flat when he moved in there, and he painted the cover too – but somehow it was Mick's idea to use it. "I was really pissed with myself, though, after painting the sign and all," said Keith. "I'm usually the one with the cheap ideas, not Mick. His are usually real expensive."

Although I am not sure why he was pissed about it...
prolly kidding winking smiley

"Voodoo" was also what Keith named a sick Bajan cat he nursed back to health.

And the BIGGER BANG cover was inspired by Caravaggio's single-light-source paintings.

Ah, I remember that too,
IIRC he found the cat on the island they were doing some recording on and said (again IIRC) something like... so goes the cat, so goes the album... or something like that. (from a Rolling Stone interview I read back in the day? maybe?)

There could be (and heck there might be, IDK) a whole book about Stones album covers showing the various covers, alt covers, alt photos from the photo sessions, along with a bunch of fun facts and other things regarding all of The Stones album covers.

Even the covers really went downhill fast after Tattoo You.

"the hitless Emotional Rescue"? wasn't title track a no. 3 hit?

Yep, a few things said like that, although the one from Ronnie I've never read before. I only recall Keith talking about the cat in the Caribbean and the story with the sign - which I did not know was the goofy bunny thing for the LP cover - and Mick saying that bit about the name, BEGGARS BANQUET, right number of syllables, etc. I'll go with the "cheap" part being a dig at Mick.

During 1993, Keith Richards adopted a stray cat in Barbados which he named Voodoo, he dubbed the terrace of the house, "the Voodoo Lounge", which is where the name of the Stones’ 1994 album was taken.

During the recording of the album, Richards adopted a stray cat in Barbados which he named Voodoo, because they were in Barbados, and the kitten had survived the odds. He dubbed the terrace of the house, Voodoo's Lounge.

The one for LET IT BLEED hints at the original title of the LP, AUTOMATIC CHANGER, but never says it.

Richards hired Brownjohn, a close friend, to design the cover of the album, which was originally supposed to be called Automatic Changer. In spite of the name change, the Stones stuck with Brownjohn's design because they liked it so much.

I thought the cover art of what was termed "the banana man" was painted by Mark Norton.

He says no one is really sure who the model for SF cover is. Isn't in Joe D'Alessandro? I think even he himself has confirmed it.
