Was Steel Wheels tour the first time they started variations on the Tongue logo - colours, designs etc? Anyone have any earlier examples?

there were a couple of slight variations of the original but i think you mean the crazy looking/add anything to the tongue like above-yeah,the first i remember it was 1989.
believe it or not, by the second half of the 70's the tongue was just a symbol that they didn't use alot.you'd see it here and there,a small one on the record or on someones t-shirt but i think i remember 89 when it became...i don't wanna say a corporate logo,lets go with the bands "official trademark".
