In late 1966 - early 1967 The Monkees had a longer stretch at #1 than The Beatles did with either Revolver or Sgt. Pepper's.

One thing I noticed going through there is Abbey Road Vs Led Zeppelin 2. I know they were released basically at the same time and have sold almost the exact amount of copies to date, and this shows they were leap frogging each other for the number 1 spot when both were newly released.

The album More Of The Monkees is missing, their second album. It replaced the first album at number one. This would be around Feb 1967.

Very cool link indeed. No further proof is needed that the public doesn't know anything. No "Pet Sounds". Political correctness was alive and well in 1966. "Blonde on Blonde" not at number one? Oh yeah...thank God! There's Blood, Sweat, and Tears to the rescue a couple of years later. At least "EOMS" got there for a few weeks. It deserved to stay there a lot longer, but then again, it's Animal Farm everywhere.

Yes, the Beatles are clearly the best of the lot. "Thriller" was pretty damn good however. At least one could dance to Michael Jackson. The Beatles were very starchy at times.

2. R&R bands / musicians are minorities in this century.
3. Dylan and Springsteen are really constant, loved by Americans.
4. Only "Stadium Arcadium" is RHCP's No.1 album.
5. And only "Wasting List" is Foo Fighter's No.1 album.
6. Bowie's last album "Blackstar" is his first No.1 album.

What browser are y'all using to see these charts? I've only tried this from work using my company issued IE browser and all I see as a summary page and can't seem to get to anything that is letting y'all see a whole lot more info than I've been able to see.
Thoughts?

@mr_dja: It is using Javascript, maybe that doesn't work nicely with IE. Or maybe you need to enable it.
