O/T Primal Scream at The Albert Hall, Manchester. Saturday 2nd April, 2016

Hello,

Blimey, it's been a while since I posted some random drivel on here...you lucky people, hah-hah!
The last time/only time that I spoke with Robert G. was after watching Iggy & The Stooges completely level the Hammersmith Odeon a few years ago: we were both dumbstruck save for a few obscenities, hah-hah!
No prisoners last night either as they opened with 'Movin' On Up' and instantly the entire audience were upstanding and remained like that. Fair to say that 'Screamadelica' is held in great affection still! Bobby and co. seemed to love being up there for the 100 minutes and he is still obviously a massive Stones fan too judging from the many Jagger moves in the mix! All-in-all, a bargain at £32...recommended!

Cheers,

Simon.

Yes, one of my favorite bands. I have never seen PS so trimmed down in actual size. Only about 4-5 piece band, right? Can' t tell if Martin Duffy is still up there to the right.

Hi Chaps,

That was my first but hopefully not last time seeing them: as you lot know better than me, Primal Scream are a fine live act. Martin Duffy was present and very correct behind a bank of keyboards.
To these untrained ears, it seemed as though he and guitarist Andrew Innes were doing most of the heavy lifting: I don't say this to disparage the other three members though because this really was a top team effort! As an aside, I think that I have fallen in love with bassist Ms Simone Butler. Early reports confirm that this is unrequited and will remain so, hah-hah!

Cheers,

Simon.

I saw them last November in Los Angeles as an opening act for the Cult, (should have been the other way around as far as I am concerned) so we got an abbreviated set list....but I'll take what I can get.

Hopefully they will return to So Cal doing their full set.

I too saw them open for the Cult & left after Scream's set. Andrew is way more than capable handling the guitar duties. & yes, Ms. Butler is lovely. & a fine bass player! I hope they get a little more luv in the states. They have only played where I live twice in their entire career. I want more!
