This could be an interesting pairing. I hope they play with their respective bands and not that orchestral stuff. Hearing Gabriel will balance out hearing Sting..although in fairness he has written some great sings. Just hope he doesn't whip out his lute!

Sting and Paul Simon were here in Auckland a while back. Wanted to see Simon, couldn't handle dealing with sting. Feel the same way about this, have always though Gabriel live to be an experience and his music a challange...but to have to sit through the boredom that is Sting, and that is even without any of his PC preaching.

Not a fan of either of them but respect that people out there are fans.

I saw Peter Gabriel at the Santa Barbara Bowl a few years ago - the 25th anniversary of SO with original lineup, and it was fantastic!!!

Stink on the other hand...never seen him never will...

Casual fan of both of them. Saw Sting a couple times on the 2007-2008 Police reunion tour. Never seen Gabriel. Interested? Yeah, maybe a little.

Loved the reunion tour...really well put together. I've watched Gabriel play sledgehammer and biko which both got the crowd incredibly enthusiastic.

Saw Sting and Elvis Costello duet on Alison too...memories

Saw Sting once with the Police and Gabriel twice but I'm not that excited about this grouping. They are scheduled to play here in Milwaukee at Summerfest but I doubt I'll pay much to see them, if I go at all. Do either of them have a new record out?

Sting stunk with the Police a few years back. Both him and Gabriel were great in the 80s. Fields of Gold was Sting's farewell.

they are two great musicians in their own styles, quite different from the Stones.
I'm sure this combination will bring some interesting stuff.

Don't forget that Darryl Jones was with Sting in the 80's. For me the Bring on Night LP is a great piece. Here it is

That was an incredible paycheck for stinking so bad! That was a really fun tour...most of us loved it...but I don't care for Fields Of Gold all that much

Agree with your comments...both put on great shows. Darryl also played with Gabriel on the '88 Amnesty Tour.
