I know there are some Bowie fans here, so thought I would add this quick recap. I saw it at the 1st night that the general public could attend (besides rehearsals), along with a bunch of crazed 'BowieNeters' who came from all over (UK, Germany, etc.). So as to the show? It's pretty damn good. Not without its flaws - some 'threads' just don't seem to go anyplace - but overall I really really enjoyed it. Very special evening for sure. Lazarus, like his new Blackstar viDEo, gives you lots to ponDEr and like the new viDEo, is quite odd in spots. Certainly, avante-garde. Also - quite emotionally moving at times. As we who have seen the movie The Man Who Fell to Earth 100 times, and luv the T. Newton character, to see him here, years after the film ends - alone, drunk, DEpressed, DEranged...it's sad. But then there are 'twists' that really take you by surprise. Visually there is some very cool stuff going on - more than I expected - projections on the entire (fairly small/intimate) stage. The Q&A after w. 1 of the guys from the theater was very interesting. And yes - the music (no surprise) was great. Almost 20 songs, sung by the cast led by the talented Michael C. Hall - songs include Bowie hits, deep cuts, and 4 brand new songs. Tix for the run that ends in late Jan. are sold out (it's a tiny theater of about 250), but some tix may be available day of at the Box Office for those of you who may find yourselves in NY. That's my quick thoughts.
